The University of Toronto (UofT or UToronto) was founded in 1827. It is located in Toronto, the largest city in Canada, and originated from King's College (King's College) in 1827. After nearly 200 years of vigorous development and in the academic spirit of rigorous knowledge, it has become one of the top public research universities in the world, and is also recognized as the first comprehensive strength of higher education institutions in Canada.

The main campus of the University of Toronto is St. George's Campus (UTSG), in downtown Toronto. The other two campuses are Scarborough and Mississauga. As one of the few surviving college federal universities in North America, in addition to the conventional structure, there are as many as 7 undergraduate colleges, each with different history and characteristics, and a large degree of independent financial and management rights.
