The University of Windsor is located in the downtown section of Windsor right next to the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit border. The university was recognized by the Ontario legislature in 1963 and is currently being run by President Alan Wildeman. The university is one of Canada's oldest standing post-secondary academic locations and is known for its engineering program.

The school itself welcomes just over 16,000 students making it a smaller scale university. The campus is relatively arranged in an efficient manner making it easy to get from building to building.
